Operations And Maintenance Budget
Deborha Brush, Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services, presented the Operations and Maintenance for the 2008-2009. The presentation included a summary of the department's 2007-2008 rollover budget as well as a list of requests for the coming year.

Rollover Items
Rollover items included contractual salary increases for staff, $255,597 to fund special projects and a series of equipment purchases involving a used cargo van ($12,000), a snowplow ($3,850) seven HEPA vacuums ($4,550) and several other items.

Staffing Requests
The department's staffing request for 2008-2009 includes one groundskeeper at $25,398 and one custodial worker each for the Circleville Elementary School, Pakanasink Elementary School and Crispell Middle School at the rate of $25,398 per person. In addition, the department is requesting a night supervisor to be paid at the annual rate of $40,345.

Equipment Requests
The department is looking to replace its 1998 Chevy Pickup truck with a "rack truck" at a cost of $41,000. The truck would be used to move equipment, and for general grounds keeping and snow plowing.

Principal Requests/Board Tours
School board members toured each of the district's building and compiled their own "wish lists" of items to be addressed by the department's 2008-2009 budget. Items included by board members ranged from the painting of Circleville Middle School's hallways to purchasing additional equipment for the district's high school weight room at a proposed cost of $80,000.
