A thirty year old African-American male was taken into custody on Thursday, October 12 after a four and a half hour standoff concluded in downtown Ellenville. The suspect allegedly discharged a gun shot in the direction of his wife during a domestic dispute in the Cedar Grove Apartments in Ellenville. He then fled, by cab, to a friend's apartment in the Canal Locks complex located between Canal and Center Street.

The standoff ended peacefully when the suspect was coaxed out of the apartment, unarmed, by the police and his friend. For further details and a full report, check out next week's edition of the Ellenville Journal.
