Ellenville Regional Hospital is pleased to announce that they are the first to install Digital Radiography within a 50 mile radius! To complement the Digital Radiography, a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) has also been purchased and installed in the Radiology/Imaging Department.

These new systems will provide for faster and most accurate imaging right in the Ellenville/Wawarsing community! The digital radiography system allows for imaging without the use of film or chemicals. The images are immediately transferred to the PACS, allowing for instant review by any doctor, anywhere in the world. Nowhere greater can PACS be an absolute advantage than in the rural areas, where access to quality care may be limited

The addition of the digital radiography equipment will improve both the quality and the efficiency of the testing, to allow for the best possible service to be provided to the patients and their physicians.

Recent upgrades in the Radiology/Imaging Department include the acquisition of a GE Lightspeed CT scanner, GE Bone Density Unit , Ultrasound and Mammography unit, adding to the hospital's ongoing technology improvement program.
